As more people carefully consider whether to leave home or not, Google Maps is updating its app to keep users up to date on any changes businesses affected by COVID-19.
Business owners can update their Google My Business profile to change their business hours, update their description, as well as extra services, delays or precautions the business might have. Restaurants and stores can also provide the phone number to best reach them in if they have multiple locations, according to a post in Google’s My Business support page.

“We may review your changes for quality before publishing them, so the changes may not immediately be available on Google Search and Maps,” reads the post.
The app also offers the feature Posts, where businesses can share more detailed and timely updates about what’s going on with the business. Owners can directly communicate with customers on a regular basis as the business changes.
