Apple is reportedly providing coronavirus relief by eliminating some fees for Apple Card users in March.
The iPhone maker recently sent an email to its credit card customers alerting them about a program set to temporarily eliminate interest payments, according to a screenshot posted on Reddit and confirmed by CNET.
By getting rid of the charge, Apple hopes to provide aid in the wake of coronavirus, which is shuttering businesses and causing many workers to self-quarantine.
“We understand that the rapidly-evolving COVID-19 situation poses unique challenges for everyone and some customers may have difficulty making their monthly payments,” Apple said in the email.
In order to avoid interest charges in March, cardholders must enroll in Apple’s “Customer Assistance Program,” the tech giant said in the email.

Apple launched the credit card, a Mastercard, in 2019 through a partnership with issuer Goldman Sachs. The interest rate on the Apple Card is broad, between 12.99% and 23.99%, and based on the bank’s determination of your creditworthiness.
The latest move from Apple follows the company’s decision to close all its retail stores outside Greater China until March 27th due to the coronavirus outbreak.
“The most effective way to minimize risk of the virus’s transmission is to reduce density and maximize social distance,” Apple CEO, Tim Cook, said in a statement late Friday. Apple’s online stores will remain open.
Apple also donated $15 million worldwide in coronavirus response.
