Fifth Third Bank confirmed Friday that it has “employees” that have tested positive for the new coronavirus and asked coworkers of the afflicted workers to self-quarantine.

The bank declined to say whether the employees are in the Greater Cincinnati region or elsewhere in their 10-state footprint, which includes 1,150 branches from Michigan to Florida.

“We have had employees of Fifth Third Bank who have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) – They are receiving medical care and we wish them a speedy recovery,” said spokeswoman Laura Trujillo. “Our first priority is to keep our employees safe. We have notified other employees who may have had contact with their co-worker and have asked them to self-quarantine.”
