You don’t have to wait until 5 o’clock to kick off National Margarita Day.
This year the spirited made-up holiday, which is held annually on Feb. 22, falls on a Saturday.
At bars and restaurants across the country, the all-day party for one of America’s most popular cocktails brings discounted tequila-based drinks and salt-rimmed specials, available either frozen or on the rocks. Some businesses are starting the festivities early on Friday.
Traditional margaritas usually include tequila, orange liqueur and lime juice and are served with salt on the rim or sugar. The next holiday with margarita deals is Cinco de Mayo in May.
